I hope you enjoy Kade and Sidney!

“Dance with me?” Sidney asked him, her voice
husky from both her buzz and being out of breath.
A light sheen of sweat shone barely visible on her
forehead. She looked like she was glowing.
“You know I don’t dance, Sidney.” There had only
been one night he’d danced with her. Senior prom.
“Do it anyway. For me?” She pushed to her feet
and grabbed his hand. He found himself walking with
her until they got to an empty corner of the dance
“What if I say no?” He looked down at her. She
was so close to him he felt the heat of her body. Damn
if he didn’t want more of it.
“Then I’ll make you.” Mischief twinkled in her
“You can’t make me do anything.” But then Kade
was the one who grabbed her and pulled her body
flush against his. “I get to make the rules this time.”
They swayed together to the music. Her breasts
were heavy against his chest. Her body, just as soft and
curvy as it looked, fit so well in his arms.
He let his hands travel up and down her back,
exploring the valleys and curves that were Sidney.
The way her waist dipped in. The small of her back,
her bare shoulders. Everything. He wanted to touch
and taste her everywhere. Lick the shell of her ear, the
sensitive skin of her neck. To pull the straps down and
kiss each of her pale shoulders.
Everything about her attracted him—inside and
out. It felt good to hold her. No—it felt right. He
wanted to memorize every part of this moment. Every
moment he spent with her.
Her hand buried in the hair at the nape of his
neck. “Peaches…” he found himself whispering in her
hair as he inhaled to take in as much of her as possible.
This was his woman. He’d never want anyone the way
he wanted her.
“I missed you, Kade…so much.”
Yes, they’d been around each other for a while
now, but still the words were true. “I missed you too,
Kade pulled far enough away from her that he
could look down and see her face. Her plump lips that
held the faint trace of pinkish lipstick.
The urge to kiss her slammed into him, tackled
him with such force he almost lost his breath. This was
different than the time in his truck or even on the deck
at Mae’s. She had time to back away. He was sure to
allow her that.
Kade gave a slight nod and when she flashed him
a smile in return, he knew this was really happening.
He lowered his mouth to hers. Starting out slowly, he
gently teased her lips with his. When she returned the
soft kiss, he did it again, testing the water and savoring
the journey. When he opened his lips to really take
possession of her mouth, he got a whiff of alcohol.
No, this wasn’t how he wanted it to be.
“You’re drunk,” he said against her lips. And this
wasn’t the time or place for them to start something
they couldn’t finish.
“So? That doesn’t mean—”
But it did. “Come on, Sidney. Let’s go sit down.”
He pulled away from her. If looks could kill, he’d
definitely be a dead man.

Let's Talk MEN! A top three game

Yes. Boys. I like to talk about them ;) When I'm reading a book it's really important for me to like the heroine. I'm a girl, after all. I need to be able to relate to her in some way. Even if I haven't been through what she has, there has to be some part of me who gets her...who feels something for her. It's a bonus if she's the kind of girl I'd like to hang-out with.

But when it comes to the hero, I need to fall in love with him. I'm a total and complete romance addict. In fact, I think I should have a button made that says so. I'm happily married and completely in love with my husband, but I adore falling in love with characters in a book as well. There's nothing like a hero in a book who can make me swoon. Who makes my heart beat faster and a smile spread across my face.

I love reading that.

I love writing that.

I thought it might be fun to play a little top three game today. I know what I like in heroes, but I'm curious about you guys too! I'll post my top three traits in a few categories and would love it if you'd play along as well. You don't have to do all the categories listed below.

You know...for research ;)

1. Hands/forearms (LOVE hands. I don't know what it is about them)
2. Smile (cocky smiles, half-smiles, mischievous smiles. I love them all)
3. Backs (don't know why, but I like backs. Scroll down for a picture of Kade's)

1. Honest
2. Sense of humor
3. Loyal

Favorite book heroes:
1. Jamie from Outlander ( one loves like Jamie does)
2. Jake from In Your Wildest Dreams by Toni Blake (this book is out of print now, but it's one of my favorites. I have a soft spot for tortured heroes)
3. Noah from Too Much Temptation by Lori Foster

Paranormal heroes:
1. Zsadist from Lover Awakened by JR Ward (again with the tortured hero)
2. Bones from Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost
3. Acheron from Dark Hunters by Sherrilyn Kenyon

What/who are some of your top three?

Kade at Work

In LUCKY BREAK Kade has just moved back to Shamrock Falls. He bought LUCKY'S, an old bar and bowling alley and is determined to bring it back to it's formal glory. When Kade gets something in his head, he's very determined, so it was tough for me to get a good picture of him.

So, since I couldn't get a picture of him when he wasn't at LUCKY's I had to "settle" for this picture of him while he was at work.

Hoping to get a face shot of him soon.

Swoon. I mean, I hope you enjoy it. More from Kade soon!

Also, LUCKY BREAK just became available for Nook. You can check it out HERE

Have a great rest of the weekend!

LUCKY BREAK cover reveal

Okay, first for something cool. Today is obviously the release day for LUCKY BREAK (yay), but it's also a special day for another reason. It's my best friend's birthday! How much cooler can a day get? My book release and my BFF's birthday!

Seriously awesome day!

Let's jump into LUCKY BREAK! I'm so excited to share the cover and blurb for the first time.

She’ll gamble her heart on the best friend she left behind…

One lucky break is all struggling actress Sidney Williams needs. But when living the LA life becomes too much, she heads back to the small town of Shamrock Falls for the vacation she needs to get her life on track—and immediately runs into Kade Mitchell, her former best friend and the boy next door she’s always regretted leaving behind.

Kade, the new owner of Lucky’s—once the most popular bar in Shamrock Falls—is determined to bring the place back to its former glory, and seeing Sidney again is a distraction he doesn’t need. Sure, the chemistry between them is explosive, but Kade can’t let himself fall into a fling with his best friend—not when he knows she’s soon heading back to the glitter of Tinseltown.

Now, with the possibility of her first major acting role looming, Sidney must decide if her lucky break is in Hollywood or right where she left it—in Shamrock Falls.

You can find LUCKY BREAK on Amazon HERE

Nook is coming any hour now! LOL.

This book is special to me for a lot of reasons, but a big on is because it's a friends to lovers story. You see, my hubby was one of my very best friends before we got together. I've been with him for thirteen years and I love him more every day!

Do you like friends to lovers stories?

Have a great day and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TARA :)

Editors are Awesome

As you know, I recently sold my romance, LUCKY BREAK to Entangled Publishing. I've been editing like a machine ever since. I've gone through some pretty tough rounds. Not hard really, just in-depth and requiring a lot of work.

Which is GOOD. I'm thankful for that.

Fast forward to my new work in progress. As I'm writing this new book, I've noticed myself looking for the things I had to work on in the first book. A lot of the time, I don't realize I'm doing it. I'm also paying more attention to each line as I write it for those little things that would slip by me before.

I have what I call, "fall back words" that I didn't know I had. They're certain words that I "fall back" on a lot. Words that I now know to look for as I'm writing and to do a search for afterward.

It's fun to see these little changes in my writing in such a short amount of time. It might change my process a little, but I think that can be a good thing, too.

Okay, that's all from me for today. The muse is calling and I have a super funny scene in my head that I want to get down.

Happy Sunday.

What are you working on? Reading anything good?

My New Digs

I like to rearrange my house a lot. It drives my husband crazy sometimes. He'll come home to a half-moved living room and a need for his muscles to continue. I didn't need muscles for the website, but I did need Jolene Perry's mad skills. LOL.

I told her what I wanted to do with a big NO RUSH. I'm in the middle of some heavy (but fun) edits and she's doing a billion things because that's just how she rolls. Still a few hours later I had a ton of headers to choose from (hard to do), but I'm really happy with the one I picked! It's fun, flirty, and sweet, IMO, which exactly what I wanted.

So, why leave Wordpress, you might ask? While it's fab for so many things I just don't have those same skills a lot of people do. My poor friends had to help me when I wanted to make any kind of change, other than blogging.

Which led me here! A new online home and I plan to stick around.

Hope you'll come back too.

Oh, and you see that little follow box off to the side? Click it. Follow me. You know you want to :)

Are you obsessive about rearranging like me? Like my new website?
